Preventive Care, Not Just Fixes

Appliance Maintenance & Servicing

Abu Dhabi's heat, hard water, and dust put more strain on appliances than most manufacturers design for. Scheduled maintenance catches the wear that quietly becomes a breakdown — before it does.

What Maintenance Actually Covers, by Appliance

If something's already broken, these aren't the right pages — each one links to the full repair service instead.

Refrigerator & Freezer Maintenance

  • Door seal check — a soft or gapped seal makes the compressor run harder than it needs to, well before it fails outright
  • Condenser coil clean — dust buildup on the back or underside coils is the single most common reason a fridge runs constantly without actually cooling better
  • Drain line check — a blocked drain is what causes water pooling under the crisper drawers, not a refrigerant issue

Washing Machine Maintenance

  • Drain filter clean — every 4–6 weeks in Abu Dhabi's hard water, or lint and mineral buildup quietly reduces drain speed until it stops draining altogether
  • Door seal wipe-down — trapped moisture in the rubber seal is the main cause of the musty smell people assume is a mechanical fault
  • Monthly empty hot maintenance cycle — clears detergent and mineral residue building up inside the drum, not just what's visible

Dishwasher Maintenance

  • Spray arm check — clogged holes from mineral scale are the most common reason for patchy cleaning, long before a pump is actually at fault
  • Filter basket clean — food debris left in the basket recirculates through the wash rather than draining, which shows up as a bad smell
  • Rinse-aid and salt levels — low levels are the single biggest cause of cloudy glassware, not a machine fault

Air Cooler Seasonal Servicing

  • Cooling pad clean or replace — every 2–4 weeks in peak season; dust and mineral scale from desalinated tap water quietly cut cooling power before the unit stops working
  • Weekly tank rinse — standing water is what causes the bad smell and algae buildup, not the unit itself
  • Pre-summer check in March or April — book before the first heat wave hits and every technician in the city is booked solid

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between maintenance and repair?

Maintenance is scheduled, preventive work on an appliance that's still functioning normally — cleaning, checking seals and filters, catching early wear. Repair is fixing something that's already failed. Regular maintenance reduces how often you need the second one.

How often should I get my fridge or washing machine serviced?

For most households, an annual check is enough — twice a year for washing machines in hard-water areas, or for fridges running constantly in peak summer heat. Air coolers are the exception: a pre-summer check in March or April matters more than a fixed annual schedule.

Can maintenance prevent a breakdown, or is it just cleaning?

Both, genuinely. A door seal check catches wear before it forces the compressor to overwork; a drain filter clean prevents the blockage that eventually burns out a drain pump. Most of what we catch during a maintenance visit are things that would otherwise become a repair call within months.

Do you offer a maintenance-only visit, or does every call turn into a repair quote?

Maintenance-only is a real, separate service — you're not committed to a repair just because a technician is on-site. If something genuinely needs fixing, you'll get a fixed price for that specific work before anything happens, same as any repair visit.

Is maintenance worth it if my appliance seems fine?

For appliances running daily under Abu Dhabi's heat and hard water — fridges, washing machines, air coolers especially — yes. The faults we catch during maintenance are almost always ones you can't see yet: scale buildup, a seal wearing thin, a filter partially blocked. By the time it's obvious, it's usually a repair, not a clean. If it ever comes to that decision, see: our repair-or-replace guide with real AED numbers.
